Once there was a dream, a European Dream.
Contrary to the once USAmerican dream, the once European dream was not simply based on “making it” as an individual by working hard enough to earn your big house and your big car, but on “working it out” together as a team in spite of, or maybe precisely thanks to, the rich and colourful diversity of the European history, languages, cultures and peoples.
Instead of prioratizing maximum personal financial gain, Europa, originally, was more focused on maximum collecctive social gain. Instead of all individuals striving in full competition to reach 11 on a scale from 1 to 10, most Europeans were happy enough to achieve 7 or 8 collectively in harmonic collaboration. Once, the European mindset was in the line of “The sum of the parts is greater than the whole”.
Europa back to democracy?
As expressed in the most concise possible manner by Yanis Varoufakis in 2015 in this 16 second clip…
There is a thirst and a hunger for something extremely radical to happen in Europa, like for instance… Democracy.
It’s also exremely ironic in a very subtle way.
Because how can it be that for the supposed example and beacon, maybe even more than the US, of democracy that Europe once used to be or was thought to be, Democracy in itself could be something “radical”?
Well, that’s because Europe over time, especially after being degraded from a Community to this current Union (= ‘common’ , actually comfortable, market), became radically un-democratic internally. And on a geo-political level it became essentially a second level extension of the US/NATO .
The European elections of 2019 or 2024 could and should have been a turning point to shift Europa back towards its lost Democracy.
Both the 2019 and 2024 elections would have been great opportunities to turn back our good, old, sweet Europa to the COMMUNITY for and by the people that we always were meant to be and that we have been in the beginning, until neo-liberalism took over in 1989 to turn everything EU into a bare, emotionless MARKET USAmerican style, based on just ruthless and frequently corrupt commercial competition by faceless banks and corporations with profit as sole and only goal, leaving all empathy, ethics, morals and humanity in the gutter.
Unfortunately maintaining and even reenforcing the comfortable market scheme in favor of banks and corporations prevailed and the people lost.
MEGA needs MAGA
Curiously enough, instead, it’s the USAmericans who turn out to have woken up after Covid in a much more accelerated way than the Europeans, thanks to their 2024 election tsunami by Trump, Kennedy, Elon Musk and the “Drain the Swamp” team. Maybe it couldn’t have gone any other way.
The whole global situation, especially the European, was essentially centralized and dominated by Washington D.C.’s Deep State/Neocons/Black Rock/Wall Street. Even with the right politicians in place, Europa would have only tried to pull back from that source little by litte, but in reality it needed precisely this radical shift AT the source itself. “Drain the Swamp” as Trump proclaims.
Make America Great Again and “drain the swamp” in Washington D.C. is THE chance for Europa to return to our roots and democratic essence, as a Community!
