Russia did not want to invade or conquer Ukraine but they were forced to attack
As many have exposed, Russia’s take-over (or rather take-back) of Crimea in 2014 and the attack on Donbas in 2022 did not have the intention to “invade” Ukraine and “conquer” the country, but just Russia’s need and intention to secure the only always ice-free outlet to the sea. This is an essential strategical issue for Russia and well known by USUK, EU and NATO alike. As long as Ukraine would remain neutral there was no threat of Russia loosing this outlet. That’s why Crimea and Ukraine were and are the red line for Russia.
This Russian true strategical need to defend itself, which is purposly neglected or denied by western media, is a totally different (and in fact opposite) scenario from Israel’s claim for the need to “defend itself” from Palestine.
To begin with, Palestine has been illegally occupied by Israel for decades as is internationally recognized. Additionally, Israel has one of the strongest military forces (apart from full USUK and EU support) and disposes of nuclear weapons, while Palestine does not have an army as such and hardly any arsenal of weapons. Palestine has no military capability whatsoever for any full fledged attack or invasion of Israel.
So, Israel having to “defend itself” is a total and absurd contradiction. They are not under threat of being “invaded” and/or “conquered”, they are the original agressors and invadors themselves! It’s logical and understandle armed groups arise that want to end Israel’s illegal and cruel occupation of their country. In reality, those groups are the ones who are trying to defend themselves, although they cannot do more than some occasional guerilla-like attack. Yet under the hypocrite excuse of “defending itself” Israel even has the guts to turn from internationally recognized illegal occupation to pure, equally internationally recognized, genocide and possible full anniquilation of the Palestinian people.
And still, even against the obvious contradiction the international western press, media and politicians support the claim that Israel has the right to “defend itself”, while portraying Russia as the agressor and invador when really trying to defend itself. So much for biased opinions.
