…in the first place emphasize that our choices
of the past few weeks…
have always been taken
on a technical-scientific basis.
It’s science, not politics,
that gives direction to our fight
against this new Corona virus.
(Covid lies: they called it science
but only minister Speranza decided)
All chatter.
When the pandemic reached Italy,
the various decisions such
as lockdown, the curfew,
the face masks
or closing the schools…
were not taken
by who ruled over us,
but because scientific data
indicated so.
In reality it was the other way around.
The government decided and then
told the ‘experts’, who obeyed,
to make reports that substantiated
those political choices.
If we want to maintain
the restrictions,
it is better not to raise
too many positive expectations.
Ok, so not the models I sent you.
We’ll agree on it tomorrow.
Good night.
That is the stark reality revealed by
the documents of the court of Bergamo,
especially the pages about the chats
between the then minister Speranza…
and the man who was the highest
representative of public health at the time.
We are talking about
Silvio Brusaferro.
At that time he was part of the CTS
(technical committee).
He even was, and still is, the head of the
High Institute of Health, an autonomous entity.
Are we telling them that we still
expect lockdowns to be necessary?
Yes, of course.
Yes, the president of the
High Institute of Health…
asks Speranza what is the right
report for the minister’s demands.
As shown in this chat, the new
data, in April, gave the impression…
that the epidemic situation had improved,
but the government wanted to close.
And so Bussaferro pretends
that data does not exist.
Okay, no models
like the one I sent you.
A mixture of the political body
and the technical body…
says the court of Bergamo.
And that was a trend that
was taken from the beginning.
We have to close the schools.
I am increasingly convinced of that.
Tomorrow we have to issue a decree,
I would also put this in.
Brusaferro is ready to obey.
Do you want to put it
on the agenda for tomorrow?
But the technical-scientific
committee (CTS) disagrees:
there are no data on closing
the schools, the CTS writes,
it could only guarantee a
limited spread of the disease.
Brusaferro tries to tell Speranza.
“The committee is critical
of closing schools.”
But Speranza wants nothing to do with it.
“That’s how you make us crash!
we can’t show uncertainty,
otherwise we lose all credibility.”
And thus, Brusaferro adapts within
a few hours and prepares a memorandum,
which he first sends to the minister
for approval.
The measures of the
decree go in the direction of…
a strong containment and slowing down
of the spread of the infection…
Citizen behavior is a
strong ally in this regard.
– What do you think about it?
– Very good!
Shall I tell Conte?
(Prime Minister of Italy)
I’m sending it to the press now.
I have to tell you that this is more
stressful than managing the epidemic.
And hear what Brusaferro says
at the press conference the next day.
The restrictive measures
are important and necessary,
Our government is adopting them,
but it is also important how we behave.
This is the run-up
to closing the schools.
You know that in these hours it has been
considered whether or not to close the schools.
We have been waiting for the opinion of
the technical-scientific committee (CTS)…
and we have decided to
suspend school activities.
A farce!
The CTS is not convinced
of closing the schools.
The theater will be repeated on the eve
of the full lockdown on March 20.
We are politically in favor of
tightening it up throughout Italy.
To my knowledge, there is no scientific
evidence on this type of measure.
The government has taken the decision
to stop all productivity
in the whole of Italy,
which is not strictly necessary.
Minister Speranza has more
than once influenced the choices
of the CTS through Brusaferro,
says the Bergamo court report.
It says that Speranza often even
participated in the meetings of the CTS,
which, as you will remember, were secret.
Of course it was very convenient for them
to be able to say about all the heavy things,
also very heavy things, that they have done:
“Yes, but we were not.”
“Those were the scientists.”
It’s science, not politics…
I’m not surprised Brusaferro
was subject to Speranza.
The presidents are
appointed by politicians…
so whether they want to or not,
they are forced to comply.
Poor guys. It’s like
you do what I say or I’ll kick you out.
Sorry, but Annunziata (journalist)
has asked me to go on air tonight.
Shall I do it?
As far as I’m concerned, it’s good,
in the same vein as this morning.
OK, I agree then.
In principle, the Institute
is an independent entity.
There was coercion
for Speranza’s position.
So it’s hard.
Well, it also depends on the person.
There may also be people who say,
“Either you respect my role or I leave.”
Some of our people within
the Ministry are tragicomic.
They are not at the height
of their task,
starting with the
High Institute of Public Health.
I am perplexed by the assessment
of the High Institute of Health.
How did they go from
“we have everything under control”…
to “everything will explode in 15 days”?
Sandra Zampa?
I have said that the
High Institute must be reformed.
But you were
under-secretary of health?
You were aware that
they do a bad job, right?
I’ve already said
what I had to say.
But why didn’t you do something
about this situation before?
Some of our obvious flaws will
fall on Roberto (Speranza)…
and from all of us.
And we risk losing unity
around our action.
Dr. Zaccardi?
I have no intention of
discussing this with the press.
You have written to Brusaferro: “We
understand what you are doing for the minister.
And he said, yes we are at
the service of the minister,
but he should not be at
the service of the minister,
he had to be at the
service of the Italians.
Ma’am, I wish you a good day.
It goes without saying that we
support our minister as best we can.
– Hello, Mr. Ruocco?
– Yes, who is this?
I’m Angela Camuso
from “Fuori dal Coro”.
Well, look, I have nothing to say.
But you said something about what
happened inside the Ministry, didn’t you?
But you said they should
all be questioned, remember?
Smart asses, yesterday I told
someone I’m not Santa Claus.
There will be interrogations about everything:
decisions, times, blame for the epidemic.
millions of Euros that disappear,
that fly!

When Covid was declared a pandemic by the WHO, in most countries it was told on TV that decisions were made by a team of “experts” (often anonymous or at least unknown to most people).
This reportage from Fuori dal Coro (14/03/2023) comes with clear evidence showing that in Italy, in reality, the decisions were imposed on this team by politics and more specifically by the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza.
The CTS met for the last time on March 30, 2022. It was dissolved following the termination of the Covid-19 state of emergency.
