What was TTIP? (~2015)
According to the TTIP European factsheet:
The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) is the trading agreement under negotiation between the European Union and the United States. The officially declared objective of TTIP would be to boost transatlantic trade and investment, which is projected to drive growth and create jobs on both sides of the Atlantic.
Presumably the agreement aimed to remove trade barriers within a wide range of economic sectors and would consist of three main parts:
- Market access (including tariffs)
- Regulatory issues &Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs)
- Rules (e.g. intellectual property rights, customs and trade facilitation, trade and sustainable development).
In practice, astrade tariffs between partners are already quite low, negotiationswillmainly focus on reducing regulatory barriers
However
Many saw it as just another deal between the great financial and industrial powers as
“Europe and North America currently negotiating two trade deals that could turn out to be the biggest corporate power grabs in history — TTIP and CETA.” (sumofus)
or
“an attempt to set the rules of the global economy to favor multinational corporations over everything else, trampling on democracy, national sovereignty and the public good.” (InTheseTimes)
Although the implicated entities and authorities (OWO as always) did there utmost best to keep it all secret (as always) there was a wave of manifestations against TTIP all over Europa. A scenario identical to that of the Covid “pandemic” of these years.
So, finally TTIP negotiations were…
launched in 2013 and ended without conclusion at the end of 2016. A Council decision of 15 April 2019 states that the negotiating directives for the TTIP are obsolete and no longer relevant.
They had articulated it perfectly! Our common struggle as Agenda 2029 is right to bring their Agenda 2030 to the same destiny as well: “obsolete and no longer relevant“.
In those times, as George Monbiot wisely pointed out – 06 sep 2016
The transatlantic trade deal TTIP may be dead, but something even worse is coming…
Governments and corporate lobbyists keep inventing new ways to embed privatisation and circumvent democracy.
What he pointed at was the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (Ceta) which would be yet another and similar corporate trade deal, this time between the EU and Canada.
Towards Agenda 2030
At the time, no one could have known or even suspected that OWO had even worse plans in the works. We had passed the equator of what Bill Gates had coined the (his) decade of vaccines and we were heading into 2019, the start of the final deployment of Agenda 2030 with a pandemic as an excuse to trigger it.
