MEGA = BACK to OUR COMMUNITY
back to our European Community from, for and by the people and away from this “Union” that isn’t anything more than just an easy ‘common’ Market for banks and corporations, manipulated by (secret) lobby’s and managed by, frequently corrupt, politicians. When Europa degraded from a COMMUNITY to a “Union” with the Maastricht treaty in 1989, it was basically reduced to a mere extension of the US neocons and their Military-Industrial Complex (MIC).
MEGA benefits from MAGA
For Europa to become Great Again, MAGA is a welcome example and already an important step forward. The source of the global Military-Industrial Complex (MIC) network is Washington D.C.. That’s where it all starts. It’s the top of the pyramid. If Trump and Kennedy really manage to start “Draining the Swamp” at the source, meaning cut out the corruption, then the European swamp looses it’s major support and reference. This opens the door to all the alternative intentions and inititiatives that are truly democratic but that are now being suppressed or ignored.
At the same time Trump aims more to concentrate on solving and improving domestic issues than waist time and efforts in foreign interference, regime change operations or wars, contrary to how it has been for decades (since 1963). This is an additional aspect that will allow Europa to become yet more independent from the US.
Once there was a dream, a European Dream.
Contrary to the once USAmerican dream, the once European dream was not simply based on “making it” on an individual level by working hard to achieve the big house and the big car, but on “working it out” together as a team in spite of, or maybe precisely thanks to, the rich and colourful diversity of the European history, languages, cultures and peoples.
Instead of prioratizing maximum personal financial gain, Europa, originally, was more focused on maximizing collecctive social gain. Instead of every individual person on company striving in full competition with others to achieve 11 on a scale from 1 to 10, most Europeans were happy enough to reach 7 or 8 collectively in harmonic collaboration. Once, the European mindset was in the line of “The sum of the parts is greater than the whole”.
Europa’s loss of Democracy?
As expressed in the most concise manner by Yanis Varoufakis in this 16 second clip from 2015…
There is a thirst and a hunger for something extremely radical to happen in Europa, like for instance… Democracy.
At the same time it’s most ironic in a very subtle way. Because how can it be that for the supposed beacon of democracy and freedom that Europe used to be, Democracy in itself could become something “radical”?
Well, because our good, old, sweet Europa as a diverse but harmonious COMMUNITY for and by the people was definitely taken over after the Maastricht treaty in 1989 by USUK neo-liberalism. Europa was degrated to this “Union” which actually means no more than a bare, emotionless, ‘common’ MARKET USAmerican style, based on the same ruthless and frequently corrupt commercial competition by faceless banks and corporations with, as only goals, industrial efficiency, optimized productivity and maximum profit, while setting aside all empathy, ethics, morals, culture, tradition and humanity.
It not only meant loss of European Democracy but also of European sovereign identity of each country and the diversity between the countries. Where once on street level every city center was distinguishible for its characteristical regional or national shops, bars and restaurants they now all turned into the same homogeneous panorama of essentially international characterless chains of fast food, fast clothing, smart phones and banks. This was not exactly the original Eurpean dream.
And on an external, geo-political level Europa essentially became a second-rate extension of the US .

Missed opportunities?
Both the European elections of 2019 or 2024 could have meant a turning point to shift Europa back towards its lost Democracy, its original Community mindset and to recover some of its own Identity. However, maintaining and even reenforcing the comfortable ‘common’ market scheme in favor of banks and corporations prevailed… and the people lost.
On the other hand,
Will the EU(rsula) continue to float in the same direction by inertia?
Over the decades Europa has shifted from being a fairly independent ally of the US to being practically just an extension and a meek follower of all US (MIC) policies, including wars. This course had already been set after WW II but became much more tangible after the Treaty of 1989 and even more so after 9/11. In recent years EUrsula von der Leyen essentially played the role of a representative of the US Democratic party neocons here in Europa. Now, in 2024, she seems to have been re-established (not elected) to continue this role and she appointed her new commissionars accordingly. Obviously a victory for the Democratic party was expected with the intention to continue “business as usual”.
However, Trump’s MAGA-MAHA victory will mean a significant change of course in US (foreign) policy. Once the current push of the US disappears, for how long will the EU(rsula) Commission keep floating in the “old” direction by force of some residual inertia? The clearest example is Trump’s anounced intention to make peace in Ukraine while, for the moment, the EU(rsula) Commission still propagates to sustain the war in Ukraine and insists on sending weapons and/or money.
The same question can be asked about Frau EUrsula’s future position regarding censorship, wokeness and health-questions that clearly have all been adopted from the now past US policies. It will be interesting to observe how the EU(rsula) Commission is going to cope with all the unexpected changes.
MAGA in Washington D.C. is the chance for MEGA in Europa
The old EU(rsula) establishment, used to simply following US neocons, will surely have big trouble to adapt to the coming new global balance. This will allow the time and space for new political ideas and forces to develop. Make Europa Great Again can flourish better once we’re less dependent on the US and both their political and corporate corruption is reduced. Back to an independent Europa for the people, back to true Democracy and who knows, back to a Community!
